display for a convertible - long first post lost
long first post lost to the gods of not-logging-in-when-you-first-post-to-a-new-site. Long story short, long time lurker, first time poster, installing a Mac Mini based unit in a vintage Mustang. Space looks a lot like this - the display would be set up where the center controls meet the carpet:

The Mac Mini would go where the A/C vents are - since it's a convertible, there's no AC. I've narrowed it down to a few sunlight-readable displays - I want to use LED backlit because of low power consumption, less heat, and it's a more "green" display technology:
1. Mp3car's own 629GL with LED and transflective upgrade - this seems the best and most expensive.
2. motorcity's 629GL with lower quality transflective upgrade - cheaper and some communication issues with this reseller?
3. mo-co-so.com's 629GL with lower quality transflective upgrade - is this truly not as good as the MP3car.com version?
4. The only other serious contender at this point - dvrsecuritylab's EBY701 - but how does this stack up against the mp3car.com model?
I never dreamed when I started the project - I upgraded my old Mac Mini connected to the TV and am putting the old one in the car - that I'd be spending $550+ on the display, but since it's in a convertible I may end up needing the "best and brightest". I was originally going to go, in my naivete, with the Mimo 740 USB-powered touchscreen, but that product is not shipping for an indefinite period and I was pretty uneducated at the time. I still may use a Mimo product as a virtual tach under the dash in a different location, though. The monitor would leave the car with me when parked, and the Mac Mini would be hidden under an upholstery panel when not in use and probably taken out of the car if garaged for a long time.
Any insight into what display would be the most appropriate would be very helpful! :peace:
